When it is needed
When a report contains a disputed explanation of an event, conflicts with materials or needs assessment by a specialist in the relevant field.
What we examine
- The full expert or specialist report.
- Calculations, photographic tables, recordings and other appendices.
- Programmes, technical documents and source examination materials.
Materials to prepare
- The report with all appendices and original questions.
- Available materials that the author had.
- Original recordings, programme and equipment documents relevant to the dispute.
- An observations list identifying pages and circumstances to be checked.
Sample questions
- Does the examination's specialism match the questions and objects supplied?
- Are the source materials sufficient for the findings made?
- Were the sport, training stage, programme type and significant session conditions considered?
- Are methods for checking key assertions and limitations of the data used shown?
- Which findings are supported by the results and which require clarification or further examination?
How the work is carried out
- We will identify the report's specialism and the specialist knowledge needed.
- We will check source data, method applicability and the reasoning behind key findings.
- We will prepare a reasoned review and questions to clarify disputed statements.
Result
A written review substantively analysing particular passages, supporting its observations and defining the limits of checking.
What affects the conclusions
A multidisciplinary report may require several relevant specialists. A review does not guarantee a change to a judicial or sporting decision.
Frequently asked questions
Can the same specialist check the medical section?
Medical questions require the appropriate medical specialism. The checking scope is agreed separately; a pedagogical examination does not replace a medical one.
What if no clear error is found?
That is also a checking result. The reviewer identifies supported statements and limitations and formulates observations only where substantive grounds exist.
